Proefschrift: Consumer online dispute resolution pathways in Europe

Online Dispute Resolution (ODR) has the potential to increase consumers’ access to redress. At the same time, the quality of consumers’ ODR procedures remains a challenge. Transparency is difficult to achieve, especially when algorithmic software is used, and a fair procedure cannot always be safeguarded in text-based online proceedings. This PhD thesis explores what procedural standards should be in place.
